This model is restricted by licensing terms. 

Model This model consists of a three piece torpedo that houses a 16 g CO2 cartridge and ballast holder. The launcher is built with a few bits of hardware and is used to puncture the CO2 canister and launch the torpedo underwater. The torpedo won't harm anyone, but be cautious around the launcher (sharp object) and CO2 gas (high pressure and cold).

Update: I've also added alternative top and lower sections by request that are extended so that the torpedoes will float rather than sink (untested).

Print Settings

  • Print all parts in their original orientation.
  • Torpedo parts: 0.2 mm layer height, 40% infill, no supports (rely on bridging)
  • Torpedo - Ballast Holder: Print two of
  • Launcher - Housing: 0.2 mm layer height, 40% infill, supports (touching build plate and increase overhang angle to 80 degrees to avoid supports on outer threads, or use support blocker)
  • Launcher - Nail Holder: 0.1 mm layer height (smoother action), 40% infill, supports
  • Other launcher parts: 0.2 mm layer height, 40% infill, no supports Launcher - Spacers: Print if required to add preload to spring (two sizes to choose from)

Hardware Required

  • 16 gram disposable CO2 cartridges
  • 1 x M3 x 20 mm machine screw
  • 1 x M3 x 4 mm heatset insert
  • 1 x 12.7 mm x 38.1 mm x 1.041 mm compression spring (or similar diameter and use spacers)
  • 1 x 50 mm x 3.3 mm nail (concrete nails are good)
  • Fishing sinkers for ballast (or anything else that you can stuff in the nose cone)
